Surge Protection - Satellite Dishes

Satellite dishes are particularly difficult to protect.
The dish itself has a variety of sensitive components and the
system has several data and control lines connected to the TV
or VCR inside the home. All of these lines and the various components
must be protected.
Most dishes have at least four lines running to the
house: a position control line, a power line for the positioning
motor, and a line carrying the video signal. Each line requires
surge protection both at the house and at the dish. In addition,
the low noise amplifier must be protected at the dish. Most satellite
dish dealers can offer recommendations or protection systems.
